"I'm in such good shape that I don't have to add anything else."

The 2024 season of the KBO League was a year for Kim. In the third year since her debut, Kim has completely exploded her potential as an amateur when she was considered the "second Lee Jong-beom."메이저사이트

Kim's performance last year was phenomenal. He had a batting average of 0.347 (189 hits in 544 at-bats) in 141 games with 38 homers, 109 RBIs, 143 runs, 40 steals, and OPS of 1.067. He was the youngest player in the history of the Korean pro baseball league to have 30 homers and 30 steals, the pennant race MVP, the Golden Glove winner in the third baseman's category, and the combined win by Kia.

Kim has even shown off his capability as an "international hitter." At the World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier 12, Kim had a batting average of 0.412 (7 hits in 16 at-bats), three homers, 10 RBIs and an OPS of 1.503 in five games. He has surely become a leading player in major international competitions including the 2026 World Baseball Classic and the 2028 LA Olympics.

Kim Do-young had no time to rest until the end of the year as she had an amazing year. On the contrary, busier days continued than during the regular season, from attending various awards ceremonies and events to appearing on TV.

However, Kim did not neglect the process of making her body throughout the winter. She diligently elevated her pace before embarking on Kia's first spring camp on June 24.
Since then, Kim Do-young has been faithfully carrying out the KIA spring camp training schedule that began at Great Park Ballpark in Irvine, Orange County, California, the U.S. since the 25th of last month.

When it comes to hitting, the coaching staff is restraining the team from conducting additional training sessions. Kim Do-young is focusing more on infield defense and base running instead of hitting during extra training sessions that will take place after Kia's official training session ends at 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

"Kim Do-young was really busy attending the award ceremony at the end of last year," said Hong Se-wan, Kia's main batting coach. "He exercised a lot during the short period of time, maybe because he was worried about not being able to train much. His palms were so bare that he could hardly afford to lose weight."

"When I saw Kim Do-young perform batting training after the start of the spring camp, I thought she only needed to conduct an official training session. The batting balance is very good right now," he said. "She doesn't need to take in more training sessions when she is in good condition."
There was another thing that surprised Hong. Despite having a hectic schedule last year including participation in the Korean Series, international competitions, and year-end events, Kim quickly regained normal condition. Even considering her young age of 22 this year, she admired her natural physical stamina.

"We still have time before the opening of the regular season. The most important thing for her is to maintain her batting balance," coach Hong Se-wan said with a smile. "But I found out that she is more resilient than I thought during this camp."

Coach Hong Se-wan also expressed satisfaction with the physical movements of the entire KIA lineup. He expressed his gratitude by saying, "I felt that I turned the bat faithfully before starting the spring camp. Rather, I am making efforts to prevent players from over-pace.
